This was a fabulous episode and Kerri I am so excited to read your Out of the Box series!! I frequently see women living lives that seem to integrate the many parts of themselves in work and home life and I wonder “Okay but how?! I mean details. How are we doing this? Who’s watching your kids while you’re working? Who’s cleaning your house?” Etc.

I'm so glad you tuned in Krista! I think we all have those questions when we encounter people on the internet!! Like Kerri said, it's not like everyone has a 'right' to know, but it certainly is helpful to see how people are actually doing these things.

Thanks Krista! I hope you enjoy the series- lots of women have been very generous in sharing how they are making it work for a particular season, and I’m very grateful to them for letting us have a glimpse into a day in the life!

I was finally able to finish listening yesterday, and I'm so glad you both talked about the importance of intuition. I have a really strong intuition, but when I was younger I didn't even realize it was intuition and felt I was just being too pushy with my own opinion. I went through a long phase where I just automatically thought my own opinions must not be God's will. But my intuition has proved right in really serious circumstances and remains really strong when it comes to decisions, and I'm glad that it's finally being acknowledged more intelligently by people of faith. I think when I was young I somehow thought intuition wasn't compatible with faith for some reason? Again, I think I just never realized it was a real thing. But I am such a strong proponent of intuition now to the point I start to sound like a woo girl who has her own positivity podcast.

I loved that part, too Christy - and my husband mentioned the same thing. He's a big proponent of intuition and gut instinct (we both are really) but never really had the language to support that idea. But it's truly so real and Kerri explained the dynamics of that 'indwelling' spiritual instinct so well I think. Thanks for listening :))

Thanks, Christy! I appreciate your experience and I think maybe especially as women we need to be talking about it more- you’re so right that it seems to be generally glossed over or ignored or misunderstood in faith circles. Aquinas does talk about it, but so far as I can tell, not exactly in this way.

I have yet to read “The Gift of Fear”, but it was recommended to me by friends who are parents and found it very helpful in encouraging their kids to listen to their guts.

Oh I loved this. It had some helpful overlap with a talk of hers I found several months back (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6-4UIC5StT0) but I loved the conversation format here. It made me cry, honestly. A sure sign I need to take the advice given :')
