I had the opportunity to venerate his skull ant my home parish earlier this month. Even as a Catholic, I sometimes find the idea of relics is a bit odd and a skull can definitely seem morbid. But I agree, it was such a peaceful few minutes and to realize that I was looking at the skull of the man whose brain produced the Summa was incredible! It felt like reaching back through time.
It came to Cincinnati recently and I SO wanted to go see it, but wasn’t able to! I’m a 2018 convert, and was wondering how to tell my non-Catholic family about it without sounding weird. 😊
We were so sad his skull was not closer to us! My son chose him as his confirmation saint. It would have been so neat! We did see St. Jude’s arm recently though 👏
I had the opportunity to venerate his skull when it came to my Dominican parish earlier this month (on the feast of St. Nicholas, no less!). I have literally NEVER seen so many people in our church at once. What a blessing!
How many of the verses to "O Come, O Come, Emmanuel" do you have memorized? I only have 4 of the 7 or 8 verses memorized (though I have 5 memorized if the extra verse that I wrote a few years ago counts). "Emmanuel" is my favorite religious Christmas song.
Such a gift to be in the presence of a holy saint! It is so amazing to go to holy places and things. Just sitting in wonder is a gift! God fills us with awe and we rejoice and grow in strength for us to pull out in difficult times that will happen ahead. This treasure trove bolsters us through!🙏🏻❤️🌹🩸

That's so beautiful Jean-Marie! I felt exactly the same.

There's no explaining it xD Embracing the weird is the only way, ha.

Amazing! I also love the casualness of that -- 'saw St. Jude's arm recently.' As one does!
Naturally 😂 It is so casual sometimes isn’t it?

Beautiful! Such an incredible experience.
I needed this reminder today, thank you❤️
Love this! Also, do you live in MD? For some reason I thought you were further South but if so we’re neighbors!
I do :) Send me a DM!
The farm blessing 😭. How lovely.

Disappointingly.. maybe 2?? I still have to look up the lyrics :) It's my husband's favorite carol too!
Maybe one day I will learn all the verses and make a 10-minute version of that carol (and a shorter “radio edit “ version too) 😺
Here's my verse:
O come, O Holy Healer of Souls
To make our spirits and our bodies whole
Renew our beings in every part
And be the salve of every broken heart
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to you, O Israel
Beautiful!!!
Thank you! Happy 4th week of Advent! 💜💜🩷💜
